Materials and manufacturing

The Ref. 80 light alloy carabiner undergoes normative strength tests before commercialization. The 25 kN strength is the minimum guaranteed force according to the compliant EN 362 standard. The double-locking system is designed to resist accidental openings during falls or impacts. SASSI France selects connectors that comply with regulatory requirements for work at height in France and Europe.

For which professionals?

Intended for craftsmen and professionals performing work at height (Labor Code R.4323-91): roofers, carpenters, facade workers, structural erectors, grid electricians. Must be used with an EN 361 compliant fall arrest harness and an EN 354 certified lanyard.

Frequently asked questions

Is this carabiner CE certified and compliant with French standards?

Yes. The Ref. 80 carabiner bears the CE marking and complies with the EN 362 standard as well as EU Regulation 2016/425. These certifications are mandatory for Category III PPE (protection against fatal risks).

What is the maximum permissible shock force with this carabiner?

The nominal strength of the Ref. 80 is 25 kN. When used with an energy absorber (EN 355), the shock force transmitted to the body is limited to a maximum of 6 kN. SASSI recommends using this carabiner with a complete EN 363 compliant fall arrest system.

What is the regulatory lifespan of a PPE carabiner?

Fall protection PPE must be inspected annually by a competent person and replaced according to the manufacturer's instructions (generally a maximum of 10 years, or immediately after a fall). Any PPE that has been subjected to a fall must be removed from service and inspected before reuse.
