Our Story

Discover the key moments that have shaped our company over the years.

1920

The beginnings

In the 1920s, Mr. Lucien GUILLETTE, originally from Seine-et-Marne, offered his services as a saddler, harness maker, and outfitter. In the 1940s, his son, Mr. Marcel GUILLETTE, took over and expanded the business in Paris. In 1947, he acquired the GOLLIARD company in Paris. The manufacture of leather bags and the seatbelt market were booming, and GUILLETTE company was founded in 1955. During these years, the business prospered.

1961

Industrial Safety and Saddlery Articles Company

In 1961, GUILLETTE absorbed LEYMERIOS ET MICHOT, creating SASSI (Société d’Articles de Sécurité et de Sellerie Industrielle – Industrial Safety and Leather Goods Company).
In 1966, GUILLETTE and SASSI merged. The product ranges expanded: tool bags, nail pouches, cases, briefcases, bags, and special custom models. Safety evolved: work positioning belts, fall arrest harnesses, and fall arrest systems.

1976

The start of certifications

In 1976, Jean-Pierre GUILLETTE Jr. was appointed CEO. This year marked the beginning of testing according to NF standards. The company obtained approvals certifying the quality and reliability of its products.

As safety standards evolved, new products were designed to meet new European requirements: the SASSI ranges received European approvals, and the company was ISO 9000 certified.

1987

The arrival of the 4th generation

In 1987, the fourth generation joined the company. Eric GUILLETTE joined the company as Sales Director. In 1992, Axelle GUILLETTE joined him and became Quality Manager in 1996.
