Working on a wind turbine places the operator in one of the most demanding elevated work environments there is. Climbing the mast, up to 80, 100, or even 150 meters, is done on an internal caged ladder, carrying tools, in a confined and often poorly ventilated space. Once in the nacelle, the operator works on critical mechanical and electrical components, in a restricted space subject to vibrations and structural movements. Outside, on the hub or blades, exposure to wind is total, and metallic surfaces can be icy or slippery. Each phase—climbing, working in the nacelle, external intervention, descending—presents a distinct level of risk that requires appropriate equipment and controlled movements.
To secure all these operations, a complete fall protection PPE certified for extreme height work is essential: multi-point fall arrest harness, lanyard, dedicated anchor points in the nacelle, and specific solutions for external interventions on the hub, allowing the operator to remain connected at all times, from the ground to the top.
