Materials and Manufacturing
The chrome leather used by SASSI France for welder's PPE is selected for its resistance to heat, molten metal splashes, and electric arcs. Unlike synthetic protections, chrome leather does not melt under the effect of heat: it carbonizes without spreading, effectively protecting the welder. Each piece is manufactured in the SASSI workshop in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
For Which Professionals?
Essential for arc, MIG/MAG, TIG welders, and boilermakers working in the workshop or on site. TIG and plasma arc welders requiring total head protection. SASSI's manufacturing quality has been recognized by welding professionals for 70 years.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is chrome leather superior to split leather for welder protection?
Chrome leather (chrome-tanned) offers better resistance to heat and humidity than vegetable-tanned leather. For welding applications, it is the reference material in professional PPE. The full-grain chrome cowhide leather of Ref. 95 (hood) offers the highest level of protection.
Do these welder PPE comply with European standards?
SASSI welder protection PPE are designed for professional welding applications. To find out the applicable EN standards for each reference (EN ISO 11611, EN ISO 11612), contact SASSI France or consult the product's technical sheet.
How to maintain chrome leather welder PPE?
After each use, remove cooled metal splashes by light brushing. Store away from heat and humidity. Occasional conditioning with a chrome leather grease prolongs suppleness. Do not machine wash.
