The carpenter works on structures being assembled, at significant heights, on wooden elements that are inclined, narrow, and sometimes damp. The installation of trusses, ridge beams, purlins, and rafters requires constant movement on surfaces without permanent flooring, with heavy loads to maneuver and position precisely. Support points change at each stage: what was a secure anchor point at the beginning of the day may no longer be an hour later as the structure takes shape. In carpentry, you always work one step ahead of the structure... and sometimes without a safety net.
To secure every operation from the first lift to the installation of the last elements, the use of fall protection PPE adapted to the constraints of carpentry is essential: fall arrest harnesses, lanyards, anchor points on ridge beams or purlins, horizontal lifelines, and progression solutions allowing the carpenter to remain connected in all circumstances, even when the structure is not yet stabilized.
